Mongol Rally: Ireland - Reutlingen - Mongolia

ALMATO is proud to sponsor the Get Trek'd team in the Mongol Rally, an adventure-filled rally for charity.

The Get Trek'd team is ready to go on an adventure. Daniel & Nathan have decided to join the Mongol Rally, an adventure-filled rally that takes participants from London to Mongolia. Or, in the case of the Get Trek'd team, from Ireland to Mongolia, with stops in both London and in ALMATO's HQ in Reutlingen.

The team supports the Alzheimer Society Ireland and Cool Earth and ALMATO is one of their sponsors.

Have you ever heard of the Mongol Rally? The race has been going strong for ten years. The goal is not to have the fastes car or even be the first to cross the finish line. This particular rally has adventure at its core.

  • The car has to be small, with an engine o 1l or less.
  • If you're the first to cross the finish line you get... nothing. It's not about winning.
  • You need to raise at least 1000£ for charity
  • You're on your own.

The Mongol Rally is supposed to be an adventure. The car breaking down, bartering with the locals, driving over barely-there roads are all part of it.

You get a starting point and an end point. The team decides how they want to get there. The Get Trek'd team will start in Dublin, stop in London for the official race and then go on to Ulan Ude in Russia.

"16.000 kilometers of pure adventure."

They might encounter some trouble on the way, probably with their car but we're sure they're more than equipped for these challenges.

We wish them both luck and success and may they have lots of fun stories to tell by the end.

You can check out the boys' trip on their facebook page or their blog.
